Testimonials - Piano Lessons in the Valley

My son has autism and this inspired me to become a special education teacher. As a parent and an educator, I am convinced that music not only enriches one’s mind but also has tangible therapeutic effects on fine motor skills, proprioception, providing audio and vibrational feedback and promoting social skills’ development. Music literacy supports reading and writing skills and serves as a springboard for acquiring mathematical concepts.

My son has been Katya’s student for five plus years. His academic skills have blossomed. He shows off his piano chops and has made friends in his piano school. Recitals and bundt cakes are his favorite.

As an adult with a family and career my time is limited. I’ve always loved piano music and wished I’d learned as a kid. I saw an ad for Piano4Everyone, thinking I’ll learn the basics. Well, I am hooked. The songs Katya picks for me are recognizable, impressive, and push me to learn without overwhelming me. Katya is a brilliant, kind, positive instructor; always encouraging me to keep at it!

We joined piano for everyone six years ago. At first, I was a bit nervous about group lessons, but it turned up to be an excellent fit for my daughter. She is getting more than enough individual attention, and the fact that there are more children with her in the room makes her work a bit harder! Katya is as professional as it can be. She is patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her school and students. My daughter loves Katya, loves coming to the class, and is motivated to practice at home.

Piano has done many things for me. It has taught me the value of patience. When I play piano it helps to make things slower which has also translated into my everyday life. It has also taught me how to read music. Ms. Katya’s teaching style expects a lot from you, but it is calm and patient. She never gets mad but always has strong expectations. In her class you will always want to please her and perform. I’ve been a student for five years and my learning experience has been amazing. Never too harsh but always pushing me to get better, makes me never want to quit.

Learning the piano has taught me many things. One of the things it has taught me is discipline and structure. It has become part of my regular routine. Ms. Katya always makes sure that you have practiced and you become better. This has taught me a lifelong talent, her teaching style is stern but it makes you stronger. I always want to do my best, sometimes I think I won’t be ready for the recital but because of her teaching I always am.
