Piano Lessons in The San Fernando Valley
Tarzana Group Piano Classes for Children, Adults and Kids with Special Needs
Hello fellow Tarzana and San Fernando Valley Pianists!
The nerves and stress traditionally associated with piano lessons is nearly eliminated with group lessons. Because children are always playing with their peers, they rarely develop stage fright. Students benefit from watching their peers and work together to tackle difficult concepts.
Many adults who once studied piano lessons remember the stress of the experience. Group lessons help reduce the pressure on each child. Private lessons often find children on the same songs for weeks if their performance at the lesson is not up to par.
Group lessons allow us to cover more material in each lesson. The classes are longer than the typical private lesson. Therefore, we are able to spend more time on important musicianship elements such as ear training, sight-reading, composition and technique. The lessons are a fast-paced 50 minutes.
Students are expected to practice at home between the lessons. We can help give advice on the best instrument for your musical and financial situation.
Students will be encouraged to perform in a recitals. This is a fun way to hear other students, share their music with others and build confidence.

Groups are limited to 8 students.
Transfer Students
Students with previous experience are able to take advantage of the programs offered at Piano4Everyone. Since each situation is unique, we ask that all transfer students and parents schedule an interview to determine what would be the best lesson choice. Group lessons are available for transfer students. We will need to hear the students play pieces they worked on in their most recent lessons so we can place them properly. Please bring all current books and lesson materials for the interview. This is not a formal audition. Most of the time will be spent asking questions and getting to know the teacher. Once the interview is complete, either group or private lessons will be offered to the student.
Tarzana Private Piano Lessons
To enroll in a program, call the administrative office to arrange a day and time to begin your lessons. We offer expert private instruction in a variety of styles – beginner to advanced right here in Tarzana, CA.
Private lessons are for children who would like to focus more on developing piano repertoire and performance techniques. The lessons will be approached in a more traditional format with a few key differences. The main differences are that ear training, improvisation, composition and theory concepts are seamlessly planned into each lesson.
Students will be responsible for preparing the material at home between each lesson. The amount of material covered will be more demanding than the group lessons.
